Part of Ontario Pinot Noir: Through the looking glass

Drinking Window: 2025 – 2032
Sourced from the renowned Lowrey Pinot Noir Vineyard in St. David’s Bench, the 2022 from Fielding showcases refined elegance. With 15% whole cluster fermentation and a year ageing in French oak, it opens with delicate aromas of rose petals and marjoram, intertwined with bright sour cherry notes. The palate reveals layered dark cherries and wild blueberries flavours, delivering impressive concentration framed by a vibrant, mineral-driven core. Powdery fine tannins are beautifully integrated, leading to a long, classy finish that lingers with finesse.

Food Pairings

Enjoy with a variety of meats such as juicy rib-eye steaks, barbequed sausages & chicken, marinated pork chops & rich vegetarian dishes like a hearty mushroom risotto. Try it with some of the less salty, hard cheeses like asiago, cheddar & soft blue cheeses.

Winemaking Notes

Originating from two separate blocks in the Lowrey Vineyard on the St. David’s Bench, the 2022 vintage in Niagara allowed for vines with a healthy canopy from timely mid-summer rains and a warm, dry fall. This resulted in flavorful red wines that are quite approachable in their youth. Hand-picked grapes were destemmed and cold soaked for two days prior to being allowed to warm up and begin fermentation. Approximately 15% of the volume was fermented as whole clusters with stems. Following a total maceration time of 21 days, the grapes were gently pressed off and racked into barrel, where malo-lactic fermentation took place. After aging nearly a year in premium French oak barrels, the wine was racked from barrel and bottled without fining or filtration. Bottled and left to age for just over one year prior to release.
