Our most celebrated wines, produced in the best vintages

2018 Rock Pile Pinot Gris

$28.15

The distinct pile of stones in our Tufford Road Vineyard marks a mature block of Pinot Gris vines planted over thirty years ago. Each year the pile gets a little bigger, as the stones make their way to the surface through the well-drained sandy loam soil and are collected by hand. The low-yielding vines in this block are meticulously tended, resulting in a wine full of character with exceptional concentration and mouthfeel. After a short period of time on the skins and a gentle press cycle, the Pinot Gris was then transferred into neutral oak barrels, where it was fermented and aged on its lees prior to bottling. Only 100 cases produced.

Tasting Notes:
This Pinot Gris has complex aromas of yellow apple, baked pear, honey and melon. Orchard and citrus fruit notes on the palate are complemented by subtle spice and mineral undertones. This wine has remarkable texture and weight, while remaining fresh with a clean and pleasant finish.

2018 Lot No. 17 Riesling

$28.15

Lot No. 17 is sourced from the oldest vines on our Beamsville Bench Vineyard, the seventeen rows are planted East to West as opposed to North to South like the majority of the property. This Riesling is only produced in the best vintages to showcase the unique characteristic that Bench grown Riesling has to offer. Pressed and separated from our other Estate Riesling throughout harvest, the Lot 17 is fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks which results in fresh aromatics and bright acidity. Twenty days elapsed from the beginning of fermentation to when fermentation was halted by the winemaking team, from a drop-in temperature, to preserve the natural sugar in the wine. Less than 100 cases produced.

Tasting Notes:
This Riesling is incredibly aromatic with notes of peach, green apple and candied lime. It is fruit-forward and concentrated on the palate, with vibrant citrus and stone-fruit flavours and an underlying minerality. There is a touch of sweetness on the palate which is perfectly balanced by its bracing acidity, leading to a crisp and elegant finish.
