Pale salmon in color, with aromas of baked pear, marzipan, candied pineapple and brioche. Very good texture and presence on the palate, good acid backbone, and a long finish.
The distinct pile of stones in our Tufford Road Vineyard marks a mature block of Pinot Gris vines planted nearly thirty years ago. Each year the pile gets a little bigger, as the stones make their way to the surface through the well-drained sandy loam soil and are collected by hand. The low-yielding vines in this block are meticulously tended, resulting in a wine full of character with exceptional concentration and mouthfeel.
Selected from our oldest block of vines late in the season, destemmed and crushed followed by nearly a full day of skin contact prior to a slow, gentle pressing. Cold settled, fermented and aged on the lees for four months before being filtered and bottled. Just over 100 cases produced.
